Poems
a little selectionOnce in a summer
Once in a summer
in the shade of this room,
where we were without lies
our love grew silent.
If I would come back,
I would find peace
and something to drink
like a welcome guest.
But welcome guests
go before they come back.
Once in a hot summer
in the shade of this room
I didn´t leave
as I went away.
Feeling the same
When I was sitting in the warm evening twilight
watching the waves role in and out,
I was astonished at both the water´s power and tenderness
listening to the sea´s melody swelling up and down
thinking about the course of time, the course of life,
I knew, you were also watching the sea, feeling the same …
When the fresh air was clearing up my mind
my pores were taking in this beauty,
the beginning tide was covering the skin with salt
a light breeze was bringing sweet perfume
and peaceful sounds of the near night to me,
I knew, you also needed the sea, feeling the same …
When I was entrusting my thoughts to the sea
forgetting the world around me,
I only lived to see this all
wishing I could bring back the time – for being with you.
I hoped, you were thinking of me,
while watching the sea, feeling the same …
Sometimes
Sometimes my hand glided over
the back of your hand,
or my body leaned
against yours for a moment
… almost without knowing …
Sometimes your eyes
caught my eyes
and the tender sound of your voice
touched my loving soul
… almost without knowing …
These beautiful moments
these little movements
went straight through my heart
and through my throat –
and I parched like a well
in a hot summer.
Your eyes
That there are eyes like yours
and hands, that know to give!
I felt, as if I´d never loved before,
As a never seen land had been opened
when you were kissing me.
I´d to miss you a whole life
And I almost forgot, what I ever felt
for others, and how I could laugh
and cry, darling, before I knew you,
Before I sunned on your fire.
When a ray stole into my soul,
I felt, as if I´d loved the first time.
